Hard at work
 

Yesterday I taught Coleridge, Wordsworth and Arnold. One boy gave a very fine reading of Dover Beach. Today I taught the Ode, from Pindar down to Wilbur. Prairie Public TV filmed it, and I'll let you know when it's on YouTube. Tuesday and Wednesday I teach modern poetry, then I'm off until Jan 24, when I teach Burns Day. I love my young students and I love teaching them. We've got to get to them in high school, because college is too late.

It's a great cause, Tim. As my husband discovered when he moved from teaching at a private school to the local university, nobody learns any history in high school either.

I still can't believe that my bishop, now Archbishop of Denver, put me into that school at the peak of the pedophilia craze. Brave man.
