a few publications

Three of my Borges translations are up at http://www.newamericanwriting.com/25/borges.htm

They've been there a while, but I've never announced this before (and forgot they were online). People crave Borges in translation as well as in Spanish.

I received the annual of The Stony Th. Book (Ireland) with "Gallery Opening, Greene Street" back in December; several different journals with poems should arrive in the coming days or weeks, and two more poems will appear in the next Orbis UK, two in the next Angle, and another soon on Everse.

Congrats, Terese. Well done!

Congratulations!

Labyrinthine

I like the way the three translations work together as a triptych or testament. " Hope for nothing." sits at the centre of the labyrinth.

Thanks, Bill, Cathy, and Steve!

Steve, you're on the mark~~"Hope for nothing" is at the center of so many of Borges' labyrinths. It seems ironic in "Labyrinth (1)." He's wonderfully detached and ironic!

My Shakespeare cento, "Actors," appears today at Everseradio: http://www.everseradio.com/actors-terese-coe/ It was first published in The Shakespeare Newsletter.

Good stuff, Terese.

Eloquent, Terese. I don't read Spanish, but the fact that your translations sound so moving shows me that you must be capturing much of what is there.

Kudos, Terese. "Labyrinth" is one of my favorites, and I love your translation.

Wow! What a celebration! Break out that virtual bubbly!

Nick, Susan, Mary, and Janice,

Thanks for the good spirits and kind words! Coming from y'all, it means a lot (and that goes for the earlier posts as well)!

Susan, I reckon the Englishing is close to the Spanish. I'd be loath to misinterpret Borges...
