I won twenty-five quid from the Spectator for my paracrostic 'The Wizards of Oz'. I've hardly won anything since the sad death of their old competition setter, the poet James Michie who called himself Jaspistos. I thought I'd lost my touch. Twenty-five quid buys a bottle of Grand Armagnac, and it will, I assure you.

Well done, John!
Now have a go at my exercise here: http://www.ablemuse.com/erato/ubbhtm...ML/000140.html (The only prize I'm offering is job satisfaction.) Duncan |
I noticed two poems of yours were HIGHLY COMMENDED in the Margaret Reid Poetry Contest as well-- so double congratulations are in order! Congratulations! Congratulations! J |
Congrats, John. A pub in the Spectator is really something.

Congratulations, John! And a fine acrostic it is. I've been reading Drills & Amusements but just can't find time to participate.

Congratulations! It is a fine paracrostic, and it is always nice to get money for poetry, since it is also so rare.
