Finally, I got a poem published! First one since July. My sonnet, "Crazy Quilt," will appear in the October 14 by 14. This is one of those poems I almost trashed several times, was rejected several times, but finally found a home. Poets, never give up.

No. Poets should certainly never give up if something tells them the poem is a goodie. Opinions differ so wildly. Look at that Sphere discussion about the merits of Larkin's 'This be the Verse'. And 'Poetry Review', an English journal of high reputation, was edited not long ago by a couple of twerps without taste or talent. Why, they wouldn't take any poem of mine though I sent them several. However, they were FOUND OUT. These people are always found out.

Go, David! (I also had zippo in the success column from mid-August to early October.)

Congrats David!!!

Way to go, David. I didn't submit this time - kind of lost my nerve after so many rejections. Will Chris Hanson go 6 for 6? Time will tell. Stiff competition! Well, I'd better go write something fabulous before I leave this world!
Do I sound jealous? ;) Anne |
Anne, as I haven't had an acceptance notice to this point, it's not looking good for another hit. By the way, you overstate my contribution--I'm 4 from 5 to date. Catherine is the main dude at 5/5.

Some of the poets who post a lot on Eratosphere have had poems in every issue. Any prize for every other issue? That's me!

Congrats, David. I look forward to it. The website says the new issue should be up on the 19th...so we don't have long to wait.

Hey, David, you been doing all right in the fiction department.
But hearty congrats for more recognition of your poetry too. 14 by 14 is a terrific publication. |
The latest edition is now up on the web. David, Christopher, I'm in good company!
