Charles Wright, new poet laureate
I've always admired his work: an excellent craftsman, producing good things year after year. There's a lot to be said for that.
If you don't know him well, you could do worse than to start here: http://www.english.illinois.edu/maps...line_poems.htm There you'll find "After Reading Tu Fu, I Go Outside to the Dwarf Orchard" and "Apologia Pro Vita Sua" (Catholics among us will get the reference).
