It's Critical Thesis Time

Dear Eratosphereans,

Well, I'm about to enter my critical thesis semester and, of course, I want to write about modern formal poetry - I don't even write formal poetry but it's a form I greatly admire and aspire to write in. I'd love to interview a poet or two about what and who influences his or her work. I'd love to discuss the views on the directions formal poetry has taken, how it is being received in the publishing world, and how/when it has been met with resistance. Any advice is deeply appreciated. I received great feedback about teaching formal poetry to high school students, and I'm hoping for the same gracious generosity this time around. As always, you are all my true educators and I am deeply grateful for your wisdom and experience.

Thanks so much,

Tiffany

Expound away!

Ha ha! Yes, I"m all ears. I'm working on a focus that isn't too broad, since I don't write formal poetry, I'd love to hear any and all suggestions, especially from modern formalists perspectives, such as yours, dear Eratosphereans.
