Greg, you really know about cold in the north-east of the USA. Not much chance to study the behaviour of frozen puddles down here in cabbage-palmy soggy coastal Devon. In Herefordshire there were real winters,, though nothing by Connecticut standards.

Your purple rows near Grasse were a reminder of warmth! Nice one!
