my friend's son on Rattle online
If you'll indulge me, I'd like to brag about today's featured poem on the Rattle website. It's by my friend's son Niko Galifianakis, who is now 12, but was 10 when he wrote the poem. Here's the link. A very fine poem for a 10-year-old!

Ha! That is a good poem. Cute.

Very good. And he still has his mature juvenilia ahead of him.

It's wonderful, Nabokovian even, in its attention to the faintest of visual stimuli.

You can't lose with a poem about what no one ever thinks about! Wonderful. Thanks, Nausheen!

Artless in the best sense of the word!
Congratulations to Niko, Nausheen! It has just the right amount of repetition to make it enchanting. There really is a shadow of a shadow sometimes, but no one ever calls it that, so it's quite a new thing I think! |
Nausheen, I saw this when it posted and thought it was lovely then. I hope Niko keeps on writing poetry!
