First collection and other news
 

Hello everyone, it's been a good while since I posted on here, but I'm popping back in to let this wonderful community know that my first poetry collection, Sudden Arabesque, has come out from Oversteps Books.

I'm such a glacially slow writer that there are poems in the book from many years ago. Some of the poems in it were workshopped here; I was and am very grateful for the feedback.

Also, part of my excuse for having taken so long over the poetry collection is that I took a big chunk of years to write a novel. Hidden River Arts (Philadelphia) gave it their Eludia Award in 2013 and it was published by their imprint Sowilo Press in 2015. It was one of twelve finalists in the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award 2016. The book is called Inscription and is available from bookshops in both US and UK, and via the usual online outlets.

While I'm blowing my own trumpet, may I also mention that a poem of mine is in the current issue of The Dark Horse!

So glad you like the title, Siham! I agonised for ages over finding a title...anyone in Devon on July 8th can hear me read from it, alongside other Oversteps Books poets, at the Ways with Words Festival, Dartington Hall.
