NYT article, Torbjorn Rodland
I have a hot/cold relationship with photographic art -- until I come across an artist such as Torbjorn Rodland. Here is an article about his work.
I followed a link within the article to a video he made that inspired me to write a two-page poetic interpretation of it. It was a fun exercise. Almost, but not quite, found poetry. |
Jim, I saw it and I liked it, too. And I thought this quote had wide applicability to art:
"If there’s only one possible reading of a photograph, then I’m less interested,” Mr. Rodland added. “The photographs are reading you if you’re reading them." There certainly are a few ways to read some of them ... M |
I just got around to reading this, for some reason. I'm very glad you shared it, Jim. I enjoyed looking at and thinking about Rodland's images.
