Dream Shadows

The moon
burst its cocoon

birthed from earth
some say

spun away
into dark sky

and kissed by sun
sun’s scion

kisses his mother
every night

Another dream!

Consistent

insistent life

stabs blades
of spring

bursts buds
in summer

bleeds out
in fall

feeds seeds
in winter’s

persistent death

I will try to add a poem, too.

I missed military school by a year, thank God.
Or was it to His regret that I slipped ramrod
living and its practiced, tightly measured combat
with tardy term papers, smoking, and missing hats?
So, each night, I wake up from dreaming and stuff back
the panic I feel, and bare the order I lack.

I know the feeling! I can barely bear the thought of my time at Notre Dame.
