Noma Dumezweni - I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud

I've watched this video of her reading "I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud" several times. She feels the words and it comes through. Certainly worth 90 seconds.

One of my all-time favourites, right back from my childhood, John, though we always called it "The Daffodils", rather than "I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud"; I've seen it entitled both ways in many anthologies.

(But I can recite it word for word, without having to read it! ;))

John, thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed it.

Hi John,

Thanks for this. I absolutely love that moment at the very end, where after such a lovely controlled reading she puts her hand over her mouth and looks kind of shocked. It seems a great illustration of how poetry, whether we're reading or writing it, moves through and takes control and leaves us wondering 'what just happened?'
