LARB essay on light verse
Lots of people known and loved by Sphereans are quoted in this article about light verse in the Los Angeles Review of Books.
Hat tip to Gail White for directing our attention to it in a Facebook post. |
It's great to see a little recognition for the longtime leaders of light verse. If more people knew that it is hanging on, there would be more readers of it. Who doesn't like a laugh?

It was good to see a lot of familiar names here. I didn't see mine, did you see yours?
|
No, and not likely to see. I liked the old version that published me. I do love the LA Times Book Review, which published one of my first poems (1995) as a critique of Sheehy's New Passages, a take on Keats. You, I'd say, are more than deserving!

Thanks, Ralph, but in the great universal bracket of light poets, I am a 16-seed.
