Don’t relax, but copper doorknobs are nice
Dear everyone,
First, this mustn’t lead anyone to just relax and not sterilize your doorknobs and whatever. Be paranoid. Always! But though viruses and bacteria are different, copper vessels and brass doorknobs are better to possess than chrome, glass, etc., and have been known to be so for millenia. Yep. Here’s one article. There are others to back it up. You can forward it around. Best, Allen https://www.smithsonianmag.com/scien...ill-180974655/ |
Hi, I should mention that when doing trash and recycling chores, picking up mail in our lobby or groceries from the outdoors drop-off table, I try as much as possible (easiest with the trash and recycling) to use only the fingertips of my left hand for all outside doorknobs and bin handles. Right hand fingertips for the “clean” wastebaskets, “clean” etceteras. Everything else is forearm and elbow use. Takes a little thought, but I know what my hands have touched.

Both videos are very humorous, especially the man dance in the first. A small point missed by the first is that bacteria are not viruses. But who cares, and who reads small print? Sauve qui peut, then.

The first one is from a BBC comedy that predates Covid, Allen. I just thought it apropos. And very funny.

Oh, Mark, I figured that out. I was overreacting to a something quite unrelated, off-board, and local that really pissed me off. I want to apologize for letting the splash of someone’s simultaneous provocation here in this tiny town get into my reply. You did good. You did well. Your post was princely. It’s hilarious. And appreciated. Let’s all watch it again. And once more next week. I really liked it. In fact, it’s a pretty good parody of me. Go Mark!
