Thanks, Julie. Those pictures and videos are amazing. The last picture of the red-tailed hawk catching an eastern chipmunk is frightening, in which the hawk and the little rodent are gazing at each other face-to-face, the hungry hawk looking down at the chipmunk, who, in turn, is staring in terror up at the deadly beak and feeling the pain of those talons in its flesh. By the way, do you know why birds of prey have a ridge above their eyes? It's to shield them from the sun. So they can see what's on the ground extremely well, but can't see what's above them.
