small stuff
I have a haiku in each of the current issues of Modern Haiku, Frogpond, and First Frost, but since they're all print journals I can't link to anything, so you'll just have to take my word for it :)
|
I believe you Matt. That sounds like a hugely impressive result. No chance of putting them up here? Or would that be bad form?
|
Yay, well done Matt Quinn.
A publishable haiku is a very rare ... oh bugger. Well done anyway. David |
Yay! Good to hear that they're out there.
If one of those is the lilacs one, it's gorgeous. (David, I'm not sure if you've ever sent out haiku, but if you haven't, know that from my experience at least, haiku journal authors are both extremely nice and very, very quick in commenting on work sent. I've not met one that hasn't gone out of their way to be helpful, even to speculative submissions). Sarah-Jane |
Can you post the haiku?
|
Joe, David, Sarah and Cameon,
Thanks people! I guess there's no reason not to post them here. And if there is, I'm sure someone will tell me. -Matt making excuses to your downturned face november rain (first frost) the day after the scent of lilac limping (Modern Haiku) dropping coins on his sleeping bag winter rain (Frogpond) |
This is electricity.
It's also good to show others who may not have realised it that the idea of a haiku as a 5-7-5 structure, is a fallacy. |
Well done, Matt. I especially like the third.

.
Good haiku taken in at just the right moment feels almost illegal it's so good. It falls through the cracks and lands on its feet. Like these do. . |
Small but really good stuff!
