Stallings on Sonnets in SRPR
 

The Winter 2022 Issue of Spoon River Poetry Review is now out from Illinois State University. It includes a fine essay on American sonnets which quotes OUR incomparable A. E. Stallings, and also contains two of my own original poems -- which are not sonnets this time around.

Poet's Market calls this journal "One of the best reads in the poetry publishing world." It's great to see the attention to form in what is indisputably a free-verse-dominated field so I hope formalists will take time to support venues such as this, who are not "hostiles."
