NY Times Opportunity
"Show Us Your Wit" invites the New York Times. They're looking for poem, song, etc. parodies dealing with people and events in the news.

Chris, for those of us behind a paywall, can you excerpt the relevant info?

Ralph, that link doesn't work for me.

Sorry, left out the @.
Eyes are devolving. We invite readers to have a little fun by expressing their opinions in forms other than letters to the editor. Take a well-known song, poem or other kind of text (from Shakespeare to Seuss), and rewrite the words in response to something or someone in the news. For inspiration, look at what readers submitted when we solicited such “variations” a few years ago. Send in your submissions by Aug. 7. Please include your name, location and contact information, and put “variations” in the subject line. We will publish a selection of our favorites. Email: letters@nytimes.com |
Thanks, Ralph.

Thank you, Ralph. And my apologies, Susan, for not being able to post more complete information. I read the invitation in the ink-and-paper version of the NYT, and ran into pay wall hassles when I tried to follow the link.

Interesting Chris.
I wonder how recent the news need to be. For example, I could easily convert my Epitaph for a Banned Forum Member to an Epitaph for a Banned #POTUS |
Have I missed the verse letters they printed?
|
Evidently, they received more than 500 entries. Published six of them today (Sunday, the 27th). I ended up not submitting anything, and I don't recognize the names of any of the six authors.
