The Moon on Elba reviewed by Tessa Carman
Tessa Carman reviews my poetry collection The Moon on Elba (Wiseblood Books, 2023) in the online journal Fare Forward. The review and the book came out in May, when I wasn’t around these parts, hence this late notice.
Wiseblood’s list has been growing—this year alone, a translation of Seneca by Dana Gioia, and translations of St. John of the Cross and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz by Rhina Espaillat, as well as Alfred Nicol’s translation of the French WWI poet Julien Vocance, Marly Youman’s narrative poem Seren of the Wildwood, and Sally Thomas’s debut novel Works of Mercy. Check it out. |
Andrew,
Your poems and Ms. Carman's review are a solid tribute to the power of formal poetry. Congratulations! |
Fantastic news, Andrew! You’re in wonderful company there, and your book is superlative. Huge congrats, and many more well-earned reviews.

Great review, Andrew. It makes my finger itch to press the BUY NOW button. The payment won’t go through from where I am now, but I hope many others will feel the same urge and follow through. Congratulations!

Ralph, Siham, and Carl: Thank you! I appreciate it.
