Three New Poems
It’s been very many years since I last posted a draft poem at The Sphere, though occasionally I do join in discussion or comment. Rather to my own surprise, I have not stopped writing, however, placing poems at various venues and occasionally giving readings. (My latest collection was Pedic’s Dream, Common End, 2021.) Three poems written in the past twelve months are currently on show at The Fortnightly Review: https://fortnightlyreview.co.uk/.

I don't think we've come across each other at the forum yet, but I have run into a few of your threads in the archives, so your poetry is interesting to read. Thanks for sharing.

Clive, these are great poems. I confess I discovered them a few weeks ago because my wife Jane Satterfield's poems are beside yours! (Though I did know & admire your work already.)
I love your airplane trip over wildfire & embers, your time-traveling horse, & your Kröller-Müller tour, which sent me to the museum's website to appreciate the striking images that much more. Nick McRae, nice to run into you here after all these years! We still have your excellent Mountain Redemption. (Now I have to re-read it...!) :-) |
Ned, unfortunately you've got the wrong poet. When I showed up Jayne let me take over his forum handle as the McRae you're referring to (American) hadn't been around for ten years. I'm a newer but not improved Nick McRae from Canada.

What an esoteric new publication to discover! Thank you so much, Clive. Remarkable work, as always. I was also quite delighted to find Ms. Satterfield's enchanted writing in company with yours.
It is simply refreshing -- poets with a reading comprehension level and attention span which rises above the fifth grade level. Thank you. All best, Jennifer |
Sorry for the error, Nick. Nice to meet you!
