What a long and glorious life. Harry Ford died, now Robert Giroux, there is no great publisher of poetry left. Men who really make a difference. My heart goes out to the last living poets who were truly his friends, deeply in his debt.

"Robert Giroux...died in his sleep early Friday morning. He was 94."

That's the way we'd all wish to go; peacefully at a ripe old age after a long and industrious career.
