I hope that posting this is not a breach of etiquette. A contest
to script, shoot, and edit a short film in 24 hours was recently run by Apple. People are asked to view and rate various films. To be upfront, let me say that my son participated, and I think that he did a great job. To vote, you need to fill in a very incovenient registration form, and my guess the winner will be determined by who is best at getting people to vote at all, which is a pity. In any case, if anyone is interested and has the energy, his film, called Go!, can be found at: http://edcommunity.apple.com/insomni...php?itemID=587 Look at a few of the others if you want to see the difference. Thanks, and apologies in advance if this is inappropriate. Martin |
Martin, I watched the film and it's excellent. Very impressive! I haven't undertaken the registration process just yet, but maybe I'll have a crack at it later.

Bob,
Thanks! I couldn't do that in 24 hours. The monoploy colors are all added in the editing, and they even composed their own music for it. The registration is a pain--you first have to register with Apple (that is easy) and then with the contest as a captain, using a different email address . I have no idea why they make you go through these loops--perhaps to avoid someone cheating and setting up a bot to vote for their film. Best, Martin |
