Anguish

I came across this while looking for some documentation on a point of grammar. There are some pretty funny rhymes as you scroll down.

I wish I had written Effervescent.

This is a rich supplement to the work of Afferbeck Lauder:

I should add that in my new Queensland home the majority of the population use this dialect.

It took me forever to figure out Effervescent, but I finally did. You're right, Orwn, it IS brilliant!

Should we try some of these ourselves?

Showy tray summer thee sour shelves? It's harder than it looks.

This is a little different. This is a dialogue between a shopkeeper and a customer.

C. L.O. O.R.U?
S: L.O. A.M.O.K.
C: R.U.B.C?
S: S.V.R.B.C.
C: F.U.N.E.X?
S: S.V.F.X.
C: F.U.N.E.M?
S: S.V.F.M.
C: O.K. L.F.M.N.X.

I lost it after the first two lines, and I can't figure out "Effervescent" either. I wonder if I have some kind of leer knock dishabille hot tea.

OK, got John's bud nod day udder when.

"French" anguish - it is necessary to suffer...

Does anyone remember "Mots d'Heures: Gousses, Rames" by Luis D'antin van Rooten? Here are two of the short ones:

Reine, reine, gueux eveille.
Gomme a gaine, en horreur, taie.

and

Raseuse arrete, valet de Tsar bat loups,
Joues gare et suite, un sot voyou.

(Sorry about the accent marks - I don't know how to put them in. There were only three, anyway. :D )

If it wasn't for the EGG
there wouldn't be the CHICKEN. If it wasn't for the PIG
we wouldn't have our BACON. It it wasn't for the LESSONS
there wouldn't be the TEACHERS. If it wasn't for the ARTIST
we wouldn't have our PICTURES. If it wasn't for the CLASSES
we wouldn't need our CLASSROOMS. If it wasn't for the BATHTUBS
we wouldn't have our BATHROOMS. If it wasn't for the TALKING
we wouldn't have our LANGUAGE. If it wasn't for these funny WORDS
nobody could speak ENGLISH

John, your dialog reminds me of a couple of books that I imagine you already know, but if you don't you should. Both by the great William Steig: CDB and CDC.
