International Translation Day has lift-off
Welcome, one and all, to St Jerome’s International Translation Fest!
This being the week of the Feast of the Patron Saint of Translation, St Jerome – September 30th – Eratosphere’s translators are working Out Of Their Comfort Zones (as all good saints should). We have been translating unaccustomed languages and/or writers who are new to us, and now the results are over at Translation for you to peruse. They have been posted anonymously in a randomised order (achieved by arcane methods hitherto unknown to science), and your comments are warmly invited. Above all, we will welcome attempts to identify the anonymous perpetrators. To this end, only the translation has been posted. Give your guessing faculties their best shot. On Wednesday, I’ll add the original text and author, to see how that helps the guessing. At some point yet to be decided, All Will Be Revealed (as the Bishop said to the Actress – or was it the other way around?) |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:08 PM. |
