Janice, in the Autumn Sky

Hey, folks,

The new Autumn Sky Poetry is out, and it's an exceptionally lovely issue, a fusion of poetry and art, as an expanded edition. It's worth a look.

Of particular interest is a tetrameter villanelle by a certain Janice D. Soderling, entitled "The Death of Sardanapalus". It is beautifully done.

Congrats to all, and especially to anyone I may have missed.

Nice work, Janice!

Thanks,

Bill

I like it a lot, Janice. (I have this vague memory of researches to figure out the scansion of "Sardanapalus"!) Good work.

Congratulations, Janice!

Good villanelle, Janice. When I saw the thread heading, I thought it should have added "with diamonds."

If I may wallow a moment, it is delectable to receive kind words from poets whose work I admire. Thanks all of you for taking time to tell me you approved.

Thank you, Bill, for posting this note and huge thanks to Christine for including me.

Maryann, your memory is excellent, but I took the coward's way out and gave up on using it in the body of the poem. I am indebted to you (and to John and Rick and David) for both elucidation and entertainment.

Eratosphere is the place to ask when the reference books don't suffice.
