Willis Barnstone at Translation
Dear Everyone,
Over at Translation we’re busily at work on translations for Willis Barnstone to read and critique as Distinguished Guest. Non-regulars will be more than welcome to join the fun. Here’s the procedure. a) One entry per member – accompanied by original text and prose crib – in my PM inbox by midnight Saturday 31st October (let’s say end of play PST). This does not need to be new work. It could even have been published already. b) I’ll post all the entries anonymously as I did for the International Translation Day celebration – initially just the translations with no information about language, original poet or translator. c) Responses and guesses can be made for a few days, then I’ll add the additional information. d) As before, the enthusiasm of the replies will probably give a very accurate indication of which are the most admired entries. So if a “cut” has to be made, that will be my guide. e) During November, Mr Barnstone will make his deliberations, and his responses will be posted in a new set of threads in due course. Looking forward to the next batch of entries arriving in my Inbox. Good luck all and best wishes, Adam |
What's the buzz, Adam? Nu? Will Mr. Barnstone be offering us comments?
|
I've been wondering about this, too. Has the event been cancelled?
|
Not canceled, no, but my last information is that we're still waiting for WB to have time for us. It might be best to PM Adam or ask the question on the Translation board, as Adam may not be looking up here for these queries.
|
Hello folks, sorry not to see this before. We are still waiting, I'm afraid.
I'm assured by WB that he's on the case, but he seems to have many commitments, and isn't yet able to prioritise us. I hope to have news soon. |
I'm not sure I have time for Mr Barnstone anymore. |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:22 PM. |
