Someone must have traduced Mike K., for without doing anything wrong he was pursued from the blind side one Sunday afternoon. His left tackle, who always pancaked the defensive end, failed to appear on this occasion. That had never happened before. K. waited for a split-second longer, watching the blitzing linebacker opposite, who seemed to be peering at him with a voracity unusual even for him, but then, feeling both put out and angry, rolled right and passed. The linebacker rang his bell.
