My one little anecdote: In his cover letter which he returned with his comments on the sonnet bake-off finalists, Mr. Cassity mentioned that his favorite poem was a sonnet by Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey.
Though I did not know him personally, our brief connection was one I will always treasure.
