Hey, as I said, I didn't know him. I don't think I even encountered his poetry, or much of it, until people started posting it after news of his death. Anyway, MD's early death makes "Haunts" a better poem, so it figures in my reading.
By the way, I agree with Clay. It has been
useful to me to look at the specific moments in Donaghy to which you object and to think about them. Plus, I've enjoyed it. So, thanks for the discussion, Adam.
