Don and Esther, I would call Huncke a masterpiece of "New Formalism," especially in the province called "Expansive Poetry," described here. http://www.n2hos.com/acm/culttwo.html My personal recommendations in that realm, besides Huncke, are Fred Turner's The New World and Genesis. Nemo Hill's Prolegomena to an Essay on Satire is another highly recommended example. I don't mean to sidetrack the discussion by those references, only to add context to Don's praise of Huncke for overcoming what Dick Allen in the linked article calls "the tic of techniques." Bill
