I know how I began, how I got where I got and why...as close as I get to a process...but because I fail to make notes, I may not recall how I got to the parts of it I like a month from now.

But that's the fun of it, right? At least, it is for me. Give me the same two photos and your poem a month from now...or tomorrow...and you'll get something different...whatever my process is that day. : ) I love responding to a prompt and/or a poem, playing with it in this medium and others.
