“O Lobsters!” cried the Carpenter
“Our appetites are whetted;
We’ve polished off the Oysters, and
We should be most indebted
If you would follow us to where
The tablecloth is spread.
My friend and I will welcome you
With mayonnaise and bread.”
The Lobsters, though, expressed their doubts:
“But Sir, we’re very spiny,
And are you sure that, eaten raw,
We won’t be far too briny?”
“No fear”, the Carpenter replied,
“I’ll carve you with my chisel;
We’ll find each bite a rare delight
With oil-and-lemon drizzle.”
