While I hate to injure my reputation for a sunny & benevolent outlook, let me interject to make clear that there should be no 'in' after 'visitors'. The sentence has an elliptical or abbreviated construction with at this point a latent, 'understood' element (the antecedent predicate 'wear clothes'), meaning that the Oolites didn't wear clothes and wouldn't let visitors wear them either. The rogue preposition spoils a saucy double entendre & renders the appearance of a 'greeter' nonsensical. Shame on Lucy. It's usually the Staggers that mangles my entries.
And thank you, John, for your generous praise.
