Thanks, Bill. I agree it's a historic election. Expect a federal UK and an English parliament within the next few years.
I don't recall an election during a period of economic recovery when the incumbent party lost; plus, I was surprised while canvassing by the number of Labour voters who told me they were switching to the Tories. So I went down to the betting shop and put £100 on the Tories for an outright victory, and won £550.
Regarding Alicia's election, I'll contact my Oxford friends and ask them to vote for her. However, best to keep our powder dry until the full list of candidates is published, I think.
