Thanks so much, Siham. Here are the lyrics I used - there are a few more verses before these. Part of what thrills me is that in 1911, when Blanche Ring sings this, Amy, who had met Ada in 1909, was courting Ada. So "Come Josephine in my flying machine" is like "Come live with me and be my love" - and with a female singer!! Also what could be better for Lady of the Moon and Lowell's poems than "The moon is on fire"??!! And it's true, somehow the trailer makes it seem like Amy and Ada are doing the singing. To think that they might have listened to this song! I can imagine Amy humming it to herself.
One, two, now we're off, girl
Say you pretty soft, girl
Whoa! dear don't hit the moon
No, girl, not yet, but soon
You for me,
Oh Gee! you're a fly queen
Not me! I'm a sky queen
See I'm up in the air
About you for fair
Come Josephine in my flying machine,
Going up she goes!
Up she goes!
Balance yourself like a bird on a beam
In the air she goes!
Well, there she goes!
Up, up, a little bit higher
Oh! My!
The moon is on fire
Come Josephine in my flying machine
Going up, going up, Goodbye!
Come Josephine in my flying machine,
Going up she goes!
Up she goes!
Balance yourself like a bird on a beam
In the air she goes!
Well there she goes!
Up, up, a little bit higher
Oh! Look!
The moon is on fire
Come Josephine in my flying machine
Going up, going up,
Goodbye!
