Default Light's Pushcart Nominees

Belated congrats to all you Sphereans on Light's lists of Pushcart nominees and runners-up! Below is an excerpt from the announcement in last week's newsletter. (Speaking of which: if you'd like an email when we post new Poems of the Week and new regular issues, just write us at lightpoetrymagazine@gmail.com)

Cheers,
Melissa

... please join us in cheering for Light's Pushcart Prize nominees & runners-up for 2018 (below). We're allowed to nominate just six poems, which gets harder each year as we publish more and more rib-tickling stuff. (Between our regular issues and Poems of the Week, we've run more than 400 poems this year alone.) So whether or not your work appears on these lists, please know we're enormously grateful for all the poems we receive, and all the smart and funny and generous poets behind them.

THE NOMINEES
(chosen by Light's editor, managing editor, and contributing editors)

Brendan Beary: “Burns, Baked”
Bruce Bennett: “Epitaph in a Paupers’ Cemetery”
Jenna Lę: “A Very Asian Variation”
Dan MacIsaac: “Pick”
Bob McKenty: “A Man of Parts”
Marilyn L. Taylor: “The Four Who Would Be Will”

THE RUNNERS-UP

Daniel Galef: “Not a Duet But a Duel”
Midge Goldberg: “Pan”
Julia Griffin: “No More”
Julia Griffin: “Non-Poor Getty”
Gregory Palmerino: “20/20”

Ed Shacklee: “The Peakalooster”
Cara Valle: “Macbeth’s Drinking Song”

John Whitworth: “My Blue Heaven”
