The anthology
Extreme Sonnets is now out and available
here, with blurbs from Tim Steele, Rhina Espaillat and Dana Gioia, and with a Foreword by Rhina. Beth Houston has done an outstanding job as editor in gathering and presenting so many sonnets, both traditional and contemporary. The contributors include our own Alex Pepple and a number of other Sphereans, though I won’t attempt to name everyone here for fear of leaving someone out. Rhina’s Foreword and Beth’s Preface alone make
Extreme Sonnets worth reading, but the sonnets make their own statement about the continued survival and relevance of form and meter today.
