Politically speaking, Biden was a brilliant pick by Obama. He's an old(er) guy who's an insider that the mainstream feels comfortable with. And he has a personality. Of course, when you're contrasting Obama's pick with that of his opponent... Really though, it was a very smart pick. He's a moderate, and so was Obama. They don't quite do it for me, but he might be what the country needs now, even if we're only considering demeanor.
