I for one have no idea what Marlowe's sexuality has to do with his inability to make "complex female characters", but I'll let the straights keep on be "straightin'". Anyway, if we desire to go down this path of "observation": then isn't it true that gay men are seen as closer to the feminine.

As for those first 20 sonnets. They are lovely commission work.
