And I did wonder about this, whether it might confuse the reader. But I hope the poem makes it clear that a) it's Saturday, and b) she thinks it's Sunday. Or did it not for you?

I think the fact that it is dark out and she thinks she is late for Sunday morning Mass makes her sound more confused than simply mixing up the day of the week.
