Thanks to your outreach last week, undemocratic government overreach was stopped in its tracks! In response to significant advocacy from nonprofits across the country, House Republicans removed a provision from the tax bill that would have allowed the Executive Branch to revoke nonprofit status from organizations without due process.
This provision would have set a dangerous precedent to allow Administrations to target nonprofit organizations based on ideology.
We are grateful to each and every member of our community who took the time to speak out and speak up. Together we made key strides in protecting our sector from serious harms. We will continue to follow this tax bill, working closely with national partners like the National Council on Nonprofits, to ensure this harmful provision isn’t added back.
