God, we're civil this morning, aren't we? LOL
Guess we're all feeling a little under the weather *grin*.

Anyway, Jody covered the details I was talking about this morning and he did a finer job of it.

I don't think any of them are scary people. I think they are people essentially trying to do the same job - albeit with somewhat different agendas and constituents.

I doubt any of them particularly want to be in a war. I doubt there will be much differemce in withdrawel timetables whoever is elected - the situatio is no longer in the control of any one country and especially not any one person. Despite who we may blame for starting it, it's a global conflict and the global parties will determine the agenda.

I like Obama and his wife. I think he's as honest and sincere as any politician can be and still get elected and I think he believes what he says. I give McCain the same benefit of the doubt.

Were I still in the military, though, I'd rather have McCain as the Commander-in-Chief. I think he has the POV of the grunt in the field and knows how they feel. Obama hasn't been in that situation.

Economically, every person's going to vote for the person they think will best help their personal situation. There's no one solution that's best for everyone. If there were, we wouldn't need parties. Political ones *grin*. Historically, my investments have done best in a Republican controlled government. That edges me towards their party in an election. (BTW, I've never been a member of either party).

I'm not a pro-lifer, yet I also don't believe a fetus should be aborted just for the convenience of two people who either accidently or irresponsibly created a child. there are times, however, when an abortion may be necessary. Nothing should fall under black and white rules.

I'm not keen on the NRA and it's objectives, although I've always owned a handgun since age 21 for target shooting. I instinctively don't trust people who - in an average enviroment - think they need to have a gun in their possession for self protection. Most of them that I've spoken to don't understand why they can't just blow someone away for breaking into their car.

Anyway, the point is I'm not completely happy with the goals of either party. I'm not happy with Bush's 'accomplishments', but we can't change the past and whining about it isn't conducive to solving the problem. I tend to feel the whiners are hypocrites, anyway, at least the portion who initially supported the assault.

I wanted to have confidence in Obama when he began campaigning, but he hasn't succeeded in earning it, yet. No one here can predict what either McCain or Obama will actually do (neither can McCain or Obama, with any honesty), but I feel McCain is more capable - my opinion. Obama may sway me over, but he hasn't yet.
