Yeah, when I was a kid I was in France and Germany (dad a lifer), so I picked up the important stuff in the languages:
"Yes."
"No."
"Thank you."
"I am an American."
"You are very beautiful!"
"Take me to the embassy."
"Where is the bathroom?"
That's about all you need to know in any language.
