This is interesting. I've got no comment on the sarcasm piece other than I don't recall seeing Al react unfavorably to previous crits.
To me, the interesting part is that Clive has given a good critique of the poem, but I'm of the impression that the poem is meant to be a fun-throwaway kinda thing without a whole lot of significance to it. Maybe we should have asked Clive to focus on a more ambitious piece? No offense to Al intended (I got a kick out of the poem) but asking Clive to crit this is like using a howitzer to hunt squirrels.
