A word of thanks to Bill Thompson, editor of
Alabama Literary Review, for nominating my sonnet crown, "On Reading the 40th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury Report" (soon to appear in
ALR) for a Pushcart Prize this year.
The crown, written in consonant rhyme (except for the final sonnet) recently received Honorable Mention status in the Poetry by the Sea 2019 sonnet/sonnet crown contest, judged by Marilyn Nelson.
