The natural world is ripe with poetry potential. I confess to an aesthetic interest in strangely shaped vegetables, such that I've written a poem inspired by two potatoes grown in the Winchcombe garden. This was published in
Snakeskin last month; thanks again to George. I've seen some interesting carrots in my time too!
Last August, my mother was just showing me Dad's vegetable rows, when we were both seized by some sort of artistic fit. We set about making patterns of leaves, all the while laughing wildly. I'm still not sure what happened, but it was a lot of fun anyway
