Now, now, Michael... cut the guy some slack. He's a southern cult hero, who died when he was 29. Interesting story about his death: he is rumored to have shot himself, in the heart, three times. Three times! Can you imagine? That would take some gumption.

Besides, by just scrolling through, you missed this line, which has its own appeal: "The high point of narrative in the first quarter of the poem is BoBo’s struggle to land a giant catfish while a hostile dog attacks and chews on his leg..." Seems as if that section goes on for seven hundred lines. I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it...

In any case, the poetry isn't to my personal taste, but he does have legendary status, rather like the Confederacy of Dunces guy. Even if I can't get through all eight thousand words at once, I'd like to thank Bill for going to all that trouble. I'm sure it was not, as someone said, done with ease.
