Thanks Mark. Yes, I cut up Wikipedia's plot summary of Day of the Triffids and a Guardian article about the various measures being taken in other countries. That was back in early March, pre-lockdown, when the whole thing still seemed very surreal, and also reminiscent of various apocalyptic fiction plots.
