Julie, I "fought" in my own way (stuff that made a "real-world difference") to bring an end to the war in Vietnam, a war in which a beloved family member died for nothing. I soon after adopted (and was adopted by) Canada, where my children and I have lived in peace for well over twice the time I lived where I happened to be born. However much I love Canada, its proximity to the madness south of its border is becoming a matter of concern. If need be, I will take my children and grandchildren to another hemisphere for refuge. Hopefully, as Jim says, things will turn around. For now, it seems unlikely.
