This is a hoot, Aaron, and I regard the movement to change the song as one more effort to overthrow heritage in favor of trendiness. Harvard WAS founded to train Puritan ministers, and if the wish to keep alive the Puritan legacy sounds a touch ironic today (like the Greek Orthodox prayers for the Byzantine Empire), who the hell cares? How often do they sing it all the way through anyway?
